Experience with the Peroneal Flaps for Wide Skin Defect of the Foot

We treated 12 cases of skin defect by the free peroneal flaps which were used for wide skin defect of the foot in 6 cases of them. The youngest patient was 8 years old at the time of operation, the oldest being 47: the average age was 31.1. The follow-up period varied from 9 months to 2 years, with the average of 15 months.The largest flap was 21×7cm and the smallest one was 6×4cm. All of the cases were successfully treated. There were no functional deficits at the donor sites.
