RozwÓj zarodkÓw bydła po zaptodnieniu in vitro oocytÓw uzyskanych z pęcherzykÓw jajnikowych metodą OPU oraz rezultaty ich zamra˚zania i transferu

In order to evaluate the effciency of OPU/IVP production of bovrne embrovos and to examine their quality after freezing, oocytes were obtained twice a week from 5 donor heifers. 232 oocytes were collected following 13 OPUsessions (an average of 3,6 per oocyte per donor per sessin) and 28 embryos (12%) at the blastocyst stage were produced in-vitro. Twenty four suitable embryos were frozen and, after thawing, were transferred to 12 recipients. Four recipients (33%) became pregnant and delivered 4 calves. This was the first case in Poland where calves were obtained after the OPU/IVP/embryo freezing procedure.
