Finite Volume Magnetic Modeling for Jiles-Atherton Scalar Hysteresis Model Optimizing by a Genetic Algorithm

A Jiles—Atherton model presenting the magnetic induction as an independent variable is proposed in order to be directly used in finite-volume calculations applied to the magnetic vector potential formulation. The parameters set of the Jiles—Atherton hysteresis model is identified by using a real coded genetic algorithm. The parameters identification is performed by minimizing the mean squared error between experimental and simulated magnetic field curves. The method is verified by applying it to an Axi-Symmertical ferromagnetic system. The procedure is validated by comparing experimental and simulated results.
