Semantic come-back is a familiar linguistic phenomenon,but people didn't pay much atten- tion to its mechanism.It can be interpreted from different angles.Schema Theory.Activation of Dead Metaphor and Spreading Activation Model can also do some contributions to the explanation of this phe- nomenon.Furthermore,two approaches to achieve semantic come-back have been put forward in this the- sis.
