Graphene Transistors: Promises and Challenges

We will examine the theoretically anticipated and the experimentally observed electronic properties of graphene pertaining to transistor applications. We will present annotated discussion on the basic transistor technology building blocks including the channel (graphene fabrication and placement, and the maximum achievable current drive), gate stacks (high k-metal gate stack), and the source/drain contacts. The subject of graphene fabrication approach from the perspective of technology integration will be discussed. Where applicable, the discussion will be from the standpoint of RF applications.
