Residential energy demand analysis: data and methodology. [BESOM]

1976
The Brookhaven Reference Energy System and Optimization Model has been used for technology assessment and policy analysis by the Energy Research and Development Administration. Most supply technologies and end-use conversion devices are characterized in the model. Extension of the model to incorporate a more-detailed characterization of end-use devices, utilizing systems (e.g., housing type and class of insulation), and use factors is needed to assess conservation R and D options. This paper describes the first stage of these extensions to energy end-use demands in the residential sector. Upon completion of this work, extension to commercial, industrial and transportation sectors will be pursued.
