Method and system for checking cargo

A method and a system for checking cargo, said method comprising: acquiring a transmission image and an HSCODE of the cargo to be checked; processing the transmission image to obtain a region of interest; using the HSCODE of the cargo to be checked to search, from a model database, a model that is created on the basis of the HSCODE; and determining, on the basis of the model, whether there is cargo, which is not noted in a customs declaration, included in the region of interest. The described method and system are able to efficiently check/inspect containerized cargo so as to find whether there is cargo, which is not noted in the customs declaration, carried therein.
