STRESS-CORROSION CRACKING AND CORROSION FATIGUE: APPLICATION OF ELECTROCHEMICAL TECHNIQUES

1991
The applications of electrochemical concepts and methods in stress–corrosion cracking and corrosion fatigue are reviewed. Steady–state and transient electrochemical techniques are shown to give useful correlations with cracking behaviour, but their predictive ability remains limited. Measurement and analysis of spontaneous fluctuations in current or potential is a developing area of research.
