The high image quality wide angle optical system comprises a supporting base and a lens barrel connected on the supporting base, a diaphragm is disposed on the front end of the lens barrel, and a first lens, a second lens, a third lens, a fourth lens and a fifth lens are disposed after the diaphragm in a cavity of the lens barrel from outside to inside; and a first separating loop is disposed between the first lens and the second lens, and separating loops are respectively disposed between the second lens and the third lens, between the third lens and the fourth lens, and between the fourth lens and the fifth lens. The first lens is a positive focal length lens with two oblate aspheric surfaces; two surfaces of the second lens are two crescent negative focal length lenses, a first surface of a surface facing to an object is a circular aspheric surface, and a second surface of a surface facing to an image is a hyperbolic aspheric surface; the third lens is a positive focal length lens with two circular aspheric surfaces; two surfaces of the fourth lens are two positive focal length lenses, a first surface of a surface facing to the object is a circular aspheric surface, and a second surface of a surface facing to the image is a hyperbolic aspheric surface; and the fifth lens is a negative focal length lens, a first surface of a surface facing to the object is a circular aspheric surface, and a second surface of a surface facing to the image is a hyperbolic aspheric surface.
