Vertical Wall Loads on Conical Grain Bins

ABSTRACT EXPERIMENTS have been conducted with soft red winter wheat in conical shaped model grain bins to determine the effect of wall angle and height of fill in the bin on total wall load. Wall angles of less than 90 deg reduced vertical wall loads while angles greater than 90 deg increased vertical wall loads.
