Impact of reformulated fuels on catalytic cracking the process and catalysts

1994
An inventory of Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) advantages is set up, but it is noticed that the design of FCC unit will have to change to meet the new requirements concerning particularly sulfur content of liquid fuels. The impact of this imposed changes on the process and catalysts is studied and it is deduced that equilibrium catalyst disposal from FCC units will require different procedures in the near future; some alternatives are discussed.
