Dual-band conformal meander-line monopole antenna with coupled patch for unmanned aerial vehicle applications

In this paper, we present a meander-line monopole antenna for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UVA). In order to improve the resonant characteristic and expand the bandwidth, a couple of coupled patches have been added. It also improves the radiation characteristics in higher frequency. The antenna realizes omni-directional radiation in the horizontal plane when operating in780MHz–900MHz and 1.20GHz–2.28GHz. The antenna is conformed on the side of airframe and can be widely used as communication antenna on UVAs for its performance of dual-band and wideband.
