Azolylmethyloxirane and bactericide containing the same

1991
PURPOSE: To obtain new azolylmethyloxirane having superior bactericidal action to various phytopathogen as a bactericide. CONSTITUTION: This azolylmethyloxirane is a compd. or its salt represented by formula I (where A and B are each 1-8C alkyl, biphenyl, etc., D is 1-8C alkyl and X is CH or N), e.g. cis-2-(1,2,4-triazolyl-1)-2-(3- trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-(4-fluorophenyl)-oxirane. The compd. is obtd., e.g. by allowing a compd. represented by formula II (where L is anionoid) to react with a compd. represented by formula III (where Me is H) at 10-120°C in a solvent such as THF in the presence of a base such as pyridine. The starting compd. represented by the formula III is obtd. by halogenating the allyl position of olefin represented by formula IV with a halogenating reagent such as N- chlorosuccinic acid imide and then epoxidizing the produced olefin represented by formula V.
