A case of multicentric Warthin's tumor in bilateral parotid glands

1994
Warthin's tumor is a comparatively rare benign epithelial tumor of the salivary glands, which most frequently arises in the parotid gland. In this article, we describe a case of multicentric Warthin's tumor involving the bilateral parotid glands. The patient was a 56-year-old man who presented at our department complaining of bilateral parotid swelling. Imaging studies showed two tumors in the left parotid gland one in the right parotid gland. The clinical diagnosis was bilateral parotid Warthin's tumors, and the lesions were surgically resected. The left tumor measured 4.7×3.5×3.0 cm and was multiple while the right tumor measured 4.8×3.0×3.0 cm.The histologic diagnosis was multicentric Warthin's tumor. There has been no recurrence as of 2 years and 11 months after the operation.
