Pathomorphology of experimental chronic skin ulcers

1975
: Dynamics of morphological and some histochemical changes was shown on an experimental model of chronic ulcer of the skin (25 guinea-pigs). On the previously epilated and scaridied skin of animals consisting of 4 groups (5 animals in each group) applications of "chromin alkali" with various concentrations of bichromates of potassium and sodium were made; biopsy specimens were taken at 1, 4, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 days. The results obtained made it possible to identify 4 stages in the development of chromic ulcer (prenecrotic, necrotic, chromic ulcer, healing), each stage being characterized by its own peculiar features of the clinical course and morphological changes.
