Thermal insulation material and method of producing same

A method of manufacturing a heat insulating material of the present invention is characterized in that an average grain diameter of 50nm or less dry silica fine particles and the alkaline earth metal silicate fibers pressed compact at a relative humidity above 70% aged ( S2).
