The article analyzes the operating conditions of freight wagon center plate arrangement. It is established that the details of this unit when operating in conditions of dry friction and the presence of high subgrade and impact stress have low wear resistance at the rate of wear of working surfaces of10 mmby 100 th. km. Was studied the existing methods of recovery and improve the wear resistance of worn parts center plate arrangement. The most universal way to restore and improve the wear resistance of parts freight wagon center plate arrangement is arc surfacing. It was determined that widely used methods of arc surfacing the alloyed facing material in the repair of freight wagon die cast worn parts allow to restore their dimensions and improve the wear resistance, however, have a number of limiting their application flaws. In this fashion is an urgent task, the development of a new composition of facing material having optimal physical and mechanical properties of weld metal and high wear resistance.
