Mixed-Ligand Complexes of Lanthanide Ions with 1-Phenyl-3-Methyl-4-Benzoylpyrazolone-5 and Some Oxodonors

Abstract Solid complexes of lanthanide ions with l-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-pyrazolone-5 (HPMBP) and diphenylsulphoxide (DPSO), dioctyl sulphoxide (DOSO) and tributyl phosphate (TBP) have been isolated by solvent extraction. Analytical data and 1H NMR spectra establish their stoichiometry as [Ln(PMBP)2NO3X2] where X is the oxo donor. The IR spectra of these complexes indicate that the S-O and P-O stretching frequencies have been shifted to lower frequency with respect to the neat ligands confirming bonding by oxygen.
