Optical study of ZnS nano spheres with varying amount of ethylenediamine for photovoltaic application

2018
AbstractZinc Sulphide (ZnS) has emerged as an important material in different areas like optoelectronic devices, light emitting diodes (LEDs) and photovoltaic devices, etc. Nanomaterial based ZnS have been brought attention due to its scientific reasons and practical applications. In the present work, structural, morphological and an optical study of ZnS nanomaterial has been carried out as a function of ethylenediamine concentration. The obtained ZnS nanomaterials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), absorption measurement and fluorescence measurement. The grainsize of the nanoparticles was calculated from XRD and found to be less than 20nm. It was determined from the SEM images that the size of the particles increases with the increase of ethylenediamine quantity in the synthesis process. SEM analysis confirmed the nanosphere structure of ZnS upon adding 15 mL of ethylenediamine. The ZnS micro sheets/flakes were for...
