The purpose of this study is to work out the experience of the tennis club and diverse meanings related to the school tennis court though the ethnographical method and to interpret the meanings of the experience and the cultural process in the activities of participation in sports. Research participants were 6 members of the tennis club and 4 persons related to the school tennis court located in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and the domain analysis and taxonomic analysis were conducted through in-depth interviews and the participation observation method. The conclusion derived from the analysis was summarized as follows. First, the tennis club members, who were in activity in the school tennis court, were building greater solidarity with the tennis court as their own space. Unlike the characteristics of the existing tennis clubs, the place was found to be the place of the activities which were composed of the activities as the local community place and the transformation and activities of the tnnis club culture. Second, it was found that the tennis club, which was in activity in the school tennis court used the school tennis court as its own source of information with building ostentatious and personal, social capital relations based on the tennis club. Third, the school tennis court was found to produce an isolated structure of the falling rate of students’ participation in physical education class and deviated cultivation of specialized physical education. Fourth, it was found that the space utilization of the school tennis court differed depending on the difference in position of the users and administrators between the school physical education and the sport for all and on what criteria of physical training facilities were applied. Based on these results, the ways to satisfy the social needs for regional connection, integration, autonomy, and complexation should first be prepared. And continuous supply and facilities expansion of official public tennis courts and distinguishing between the opening of tennis curriculums as school physical education and the fostering of the athletic clubs and satisfying the needs of each area are considered to be the most fundamental measures.
