Progress on Nutritional and Toxic Effect of Boron in Animals

Boron is a trace element distributed widely in nature.It has many biological effects.Recent studies have shown that boron is closely related to the growth and metabolic process of some animals.Maybe it is essential to animals.The right amount of boron can promote animal growth and development,maintain the normal physiological function;but high doses of boron is toxic to animals.At present,research mainly use animal model to study the nutritional and toxic effect of boron,and investigate the mechanism of these biological effect from molecular level.In order to provide a reference for biology and nutrition research of boron,this paper introduced the recent research progress on nutritional and toxic effect of boron,which includes growth promotion,embryonic development promotion,bone metabolism improvement,developmental toxicity,reproductive toxicity and immune toxicity.
