Cowpox in Okapis Okapia Johnstoni at Rotterdam Zoo

SUMMARY An infection occurring in five okapis at the Royal Rotterdam Zoo is described, characterized by cutaneous lesions. The outbreak was attributable to cowpox virus which was isolated and identified.
