El aprendizaje de la lectura, ¿cuál es el mejor momento para iniciar su enseñanza?

2020
There have been two positions that have traditionally been raised about which is the most recommended time to start teaching reading, on the one hand, it was considered necessary to wait for the student to be prepared, and on the other, it is encouraged that this learning occurs as soon as possible, both positions, although opposite, have the danger of either delaying or forcing learning. In this sense, it is necessary to continue studying when is the most suitable period to facilitate this learning. The purpose of this work has been to analyze the relationship that predictors of reading have with the domain of the decoding process in the early ages. 112 students with ages between 4 and 6 years participated in the study. The results indicate that, although at four years the apprentices are already prepared for access to the process of acquisition of reading, it is at 5 years when there is a greater link between the skills favoring reading and reading performance, for what would be most advisable would be to start the development of pre-reading skills in the early ages and start learning to read throughout the last level of the Early Childhood Education stage.
