Modeling of radiation intensity fluctuations during stellar occultations by Earth's atmosphere

2003
Two methods of radiation intensity fluctuations modeling during stellar occultations by Earth's atmosphere aresuggested. Vertical anisotropy of inhomogeneities and ray path distortion due to macroscopic spherical anisotropy ofatmosphere are taken into account. Some numerical results are discussed.Work is supported by the RFBR grant 02-05-64310.Keywords: turbulence, middle atmosphere, scintillations, phase-changing screen, smooth disturbance method.
