Dual-Tip Elastic Indentation: A New Technique for Controlled Crack Growth and Brittle Fracture Toughness Determination

A dual-tip indenter has been used to extend cracks previously generated by a Vickers indentation on soda-lime glass. Controlled crack growth is feasible and useful for different fracture mechanics measurements.
