Method and device for mounting component

PURPOSE: To enable quicker mounting of a component by correcting the position of a component sucked by using a reference mark formed on a moving head. CONSTITUTION: When a component 2 is sucked by a nozzle 4 of a moving head 3 and moved over a camera, the position of the head 3 is detected by a position detecting sensor 11. A control means 10 outputs the positional information to an image-processing means 12 and a reference mark 8 and the component 2, sucked by the nozzle 4 are photographed at the timing of passage of the component above the camera 5. The obtained photographing information is inputted to the means 12. A relative position between the previously determined reference mark 8 and the nozzle 4 and the deviation of the sucked position of the component 2 from the detected reference mark 8 are calculated, and the deviation is outputted to the means 10. The means 10 outputs a control signal to a drive means based on information outputted from the means 12, so that the position of the head 3 is adjusted to correct the deviation, and the component 2 is mounted on a prescribed position of a substrate 6.
