The effect of acupuncture on the the activity of SOD,MDA and GSH-Px on photoaging rats

2012
Objective To study the effect of acupuncture on the the activity of Superoxide Dismutase(SOD) and Glutathione Peroxidase(GSH-Px)as well as the content of Malon Dialdehyde(MDA) on cutaneous tissue of photoaging rats and to investigate the the mechanism of acupuncture on photoaging rats. Methods The rats were divided into 4 groups, except for the normal control group, the rats of other groups all accepted the artificial UV radiation(UVA+UVB).The rats of acupuncture group accepted Electro acupuncture,Vitamin E cream was used on rats back in positive control group,After 15 weeks, compare the results of biochemical indicator of each groups. Results Comparing with the normal control group, the activity of SOD and GSH-Px in model group were Significantly decreased, the content of MDA was Significantly increased(P 0.05).Comparing with the model group, the SOD and GSH-Px in model group were Significantly increased, the content of MDA was Significantly decreased(P 0.05) and no statistically significant to compare with the VEgroup. Conclusion acupuncture may against the photoaging and alter the appearance of photoaging skin by increasing the activity of SOD and GSH-Pxand,decreasing the content of MDA on cutaneous tissue of photoaging rats.
