Determination of Berberine hydrochloride in Huangbai capsules by HPLC

OBJECTIVE To establish a HPLC method for the determination of Berberine Hydrochloride in Huangbai capsules.METHODS The Hypersil C18column(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm)was used.The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.033mol·L-1,potassium dihydrogen phosphate(28∶72)with flow rate 1.0mL·min-1。The detection wavelength was 345nm and column temperature was 35℃。RESULTS The method was linear within the range of 1.8112～9.0560 μg·mL-1(r=0.9999)。The average recovery was 96.78% and RSD was 1.19%(n=6).CONCLUSION The method is efficient and accurate with a good repeatability and can be using for the control of Huangbai capsules.
