A STUDY ON THE MODIFICATION OF SUNFLOWER OIL WITH METHANOL

In this paper,a study on the modification of sunflower oil with methanol is presented.The optimal conditions of inter-esterification are as follows:the ratio of sunflower oil to methanol:1∶5,the amount of catalyst:0.5% of sunflower oil quantity,the reaction time:3.5 hours,and the yield of product of sunflower oil methyl-fatty acids:98.5%.At the same time,the structures of the ester exchange products are identified by means of IR spectrum.The components and properties of sunflower oil are determined by means of chemical analysis and GC.
