Study of the electron transfer in Xe-q(+)-Hecollisions

The cross section ratios of the double to single electron transfer of helium target induced by Xeq+ (q = 15, 17, 19, 21, 23) ions are measured by means of the position sensitive and time-of-flight techniques. By considering an one-step transfer mechanism, we modify the extended classical over-barrier model. It is found that the calculated single and double electron-transfer cross sections using the modified model show excellent agreement with the experimental data of Andersson et al. and Selberg et al, and improves the agreement with the present measured double to single electron-transfer ratio considerably.
