Laser machining head for machining a workpiece by means of a laser beam

2007
The invention relates to a laser machining head for machining a workpiece by means of a laser beam which exits a housing through which an optical path is guided to a laser beam together with a process gas from a workpiece-facing housing exit opening, a receiving device which is detachably connected to the housing and has a passage channel for the process gas and the laser beam having a workpiece facing away from channel entrance opening and a workpiece-facing channel outlet opening, the channel inlet opening is in communication with the housing outlet opening, and comprises a nozzle that is detachably connected to the receiving device and a related with the channel exit opening of the receiving device has nozzle inlet opening, and a workpiece-facing nozzle opening, exit through which, in operation the laser beam and the process gas. In order to allow machining of a workpiece by a laser beam at reduced process gas pressure of equal or higher quality, one of the transitions of the housing outlet opening to channel input opening of the receiving apparatus and the channel outlet opening of the receiving apparatus to the nozzle inlet opening is at least continuously.
