This article aims to reconstruct the vision of history to be found in textbooks of the political economy of socialism. The author treats the textbooks of political economy as a medium of Communist Poland’s official historical narrative. Truth ‘produced’ by means of the educational materials seems to be a perfect exemplification of Michel Foucault’s ideas regarding the knowledge/power relation. In his analysis of the textbooks under discussion, the author uses mainly the issues of stimuli. What emerges from the analysis is a picture of a devious reality in which students of the Polish Peoples republic period were forced to exist, also in the aspect of the propaganda’s vision of the current history of Poland.
