Spectral and multi-wavelength continuous-wave laser properties of Yb3+:BaLaGa3O7

Abstract Yb 3+ doped BaLaGa 3 O 7 crystal has been successfully grown by Czochralski method. The polarized absorption spectra, the fluorescence spectra and the fluorescence decay lifetime of Yb 3+ :BaLaGa 3 O 7 crystal were measured at room temperature. The spectroscopic parameters of Yb 3+ :BaLaGa 3 O 7 crystal are calculated. A continuous wave output power of 1.32W was obtained with four-wavelength emission corresponding to an optical-optical slope efficiency of 55%.
