Preliminary automation system development for aquaculture using wireless ethernet.

2013
Suitable automation system could reduce the operational cost of manpower and increase production capability due to effectiveness of water quality management. The proposed automation system could monitor important water quality parameters consisting of dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, concentration of total ammonium nitrogen, and temperature. Data acquisition system was also included for manipulating paddle wheels in both manual and automatic modes. Sub-systems in the control network were communicated via wireless Ethernet and Modbus protocols. OPC technology was applied for data connections between control and display unit (HMI). Further study is needed to approve this system in aquaculture ponds.
