Endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) is an established invasive procedure in which samples of myocardial tissue are obtained for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Generally, it is used for cardiac allograft rejection surveillance and evaluation of restrictive and dilated cardiomyopathies .
