Immersible electrolyzer and its use in solving local ecological problems

1997
The construction and technical characteristics of an immersible electrochemical module PM-1 are presented. This is a small cylindrical electrolyzer (its overall volume being 10 l, its mass 7 kg) equipped with a flow-through porous cathode united with the solution supply unit. The module is intended for solving local ecological tasks which require limited amounts of technological solutions to be processed. Some examples describing a sucessful use of PM-1 to recover silver from worked-out fixing and fixing-bleaching solutions of miniature photolaboratories, as well as to purify nickel-containing electrolytes from copper are presented.
