Overexpression of LeERF1 have effect on the tolerance to cold stress of tomato fruit

To study the function of transcription factor LeERF1 in cold stress,we used the sense LeERF1,wild-type and anti-sense LeERF1 transgenic tomato(Lycopersicon esculentum cv.No.4Zhongshu) fruit.We describe here that the chilling index(CI) of LeERF1-sn tomato fruit is more lower than wild type and LeERF1-as tomato fruit,and the CI of LeERF1-as tomato fruit is the highest.Moreover,our results indicate that the activity of SOD,POD in LeERF1-sn is higher than wt and LeERF1-as tomato fruit during 2 ℃ storage,and so as the proline content.Overexpression of LeERF1 in tomato fruit enhanced the tolerance to cold stress.
