Effect of the centroid position of cantilever beam on the performance of PVDF energy harvester device

2017
Many studies have shown that increased mass or changed cantilever length can affect the resonance frequency and sensitivity of the piezoelectric vibration energy harvester, and the multiaxial response can be obtained by the mass deviated from the axis. There is also still a certain lack of knowledge of the inherent laws of the phenomenon. In this paper, the inherent laws of previous phenomenon was studied by finite element simulation and experimental method. Using PVDF piezoelectric film as the energy conversion material, by adjusted the position of the mass in the axial and longitudinal direction of the cantilever beam, the centroid deviation ratio of the cantilever system was changed, and the open-circuit voltage and the natural frequency of the different centroid deviation ratio was analyzed under the condition of applying sinusoidal excitation signal, the relationship between the centroid deviation ratio and the voltage output and the natural frequency was obtained. This provided a basis for further design of energy harvester with better performance.
