KUFRI SHAILJA: A LATE BLIGHT RESISTANT POTATO VARIETY FOR INDIAN HILLS

Kufri Shailja is a medium maturing potato variety suitable for cultivation in the Indian hills. It has high level of resistance to late blight both in foliage and tubers. It has medium sized, round-oval, white tubers with pale yellow flesh and excellent cooking quality. This variety has higher yield potential than the varieties Kufri Jyoti and Kufri Giriraj, and also better keeping quality. It has higher tuber dry matter than Kufri Giriraj.
