The invention relates to a value document substrate for producing documents of value, in particular bank notes, having a front side and a back side, the front side of the value document substrate in a partial region a to UV-radiation-sensitive safety feature and the to UV-radiation-sensitive safety feature protective having to UV radiation substantially impermeable color layer, wherein the value document substrate is opaque and transparent for UV-radiation substantially at least in the partial region of the opposite UV-radiation-sensitive security feature.
