Influence of carbon monoxide and its decomposition catalysts on the destruction of blast-furnace aluminosilicate refractories

1991
Aluminosilicate blast-furnace refractories grades ShPD-41 and ShPd-39 (GOST 1598–75) are not destroyed under the action of carbon monoxide at 500°C in 500 h; specimens of ShUD-37 on the other hand are destroyed. Underfired (at 1300°C) specimens of ShPD-41 and ShUD-37 are destroyed in CO after 100 h from the start of the test. Specimens from these grades of brick but fired at 1450°C have no visible damage, even after 500 h testing.
