Impact of simvastatin intervention on ventricles remodeling and heart function in heart failure and ischemic cardiopath
2007
Objective To observe the impact of simvastatin on ventricles remodeling and heart function in heart failure and ischemic cardiopath. Methods 114 cases of ischemic heart disease concurrent heart failure(left ventricular end diastolic dimension≥60mm,left ventricular ejection fraction ≤45%,heart function NYHA grade 2-4) were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group.Patients in treatment group(59 cases) were given simvastatin 20 mg/day on the basis of conventional therapy, and those in control group(55 cases) were treated with routine therapy. The treatment course lasted three months. The clinical symptom, cardiac functional grade, the functional parameter of ultrasound cardiotachograph, the change and adverse effect of 6 min walking test between the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment group was 89% and that of control group was 69%.The mortality of treatment group was 6.8% and that of control group was 16.3%.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P0.01).There were significant improvements in left ventricular end diastolic dimension, left ventricular end contraction dimension, left ventricular ejection fraction and 6 min walking distance in both groups, but the treatment group was improved more obviously. Conclusion Simvastatin can improve the heart function and ventricles reconstruction, cut down mortality of heart failure and ischemic cardiopath on the base of overall antagonistic therapy towards nerve-endocrine.
