REACTION OF THIOPHENE WITH ATOMIC HYDROGEN IN GAS PHASE

1975
Thiophene was subjected to the reaction with hydrogen atom under reduced pressure in the temperature range of 300 – 70°K using a discharge-flow reactor. Butadiene, butenes, n-butane, propylene, and C2 hydrocarbons are the main products, and no formation of sulfur-containing products other than hydrogen sulfide is observed.
