An Active Power Comprehensive Control Scheme for Grid Connection of Renewable Energy

2021
As the proportion of renewable energy in the power system continues to increase, renewable energy plays an increasingly important role in the power grid. Renewable energy grid connection not only needs to improve its adaptability to the grid, but also needs to increase its active frequency and voltage regulation capabilities to improve the stability of the grid frequency and voltage at high penetration rates. This paper proposes an active power comprehensive control scheme and system for grid connection of renewable energy based on the current engineering status. It can effectively avoid the communication delay and out-of-sequence problems caused by traditional independent active control, and has the characteristics of convenient transformation and low investment cost. The scheme was verified to be feasible, through engineering transformation and field testing at a large-capacity photovoltaic power station in Yunnan Power Grid. And it proposes a highly scalable, economical, efficient and reliable reference scheme for power control of renewable energy grid connection.
