Estructura de la cuenca mesozoica de Els Banys d’Arles

espanolLos materiales triasicos, cretacico superior y garumniense de la cuenca de Els Banys d’Arles (Amelie-les-Bains), asi como los del zocalo paleozoico, estan afectados por dos sistemas de pliegues y por un sistema de cabalgamientos de direccion variable entre NW-SE y W-E. El cabalgamiento principal se prolonga hacia el NW hasta el macizo del Canigo, donde forma la lamina cabalgante superior del conjunto de unidades miloniticas de la vertiente norte de este macizo. Su desplazamiento minimo es del orden de 14-15 km si consideramos que se trata de la zona de raiz de las laminas cabalgantes de Bac Grillera y Costoja en la vertiente sur del macizo del Roc de Frausa. Constituye uno de los mejores ejemplos de cabalgamientos alpinos bien identificados que afectan a los materiales del zocalo hercinico del Pirineo. EnglishThe Triasic, upper Cretaceous and Garumnian rocks of the Els Banys d’Arles (Amelie-les-Bains) trough, as well as their basement Paleozoic rocks, are affected by two Alpine fold system and by athrust system ranging in direction from NW-SE to W-E. The main thrust can be recognized westwards asfar as the Canigo massif, where it forms the basal thrust of the uppermost mylonitic unit affecting thenorthern slope of this massif. Its minimum displacement has been evaluated in 14-15 km if we considerthat represents the root zone of the Bac Grillera and Costoja thrust sheet, on the southern slope of theRoc de Frausa massif. This thrust constitutes one of the best exposed examples of the Alpine thrustsaffecting basement rocks in the Pyrenees.
