RESOURCES, ACTIONS AND PERFORMANCE: INVESTIGATING A MEDIATED MODEL.

2009
The article discusses the resource-based view (RBV) theory and competitive dynamics in a mediated model. According to the article, the RBV states that resources that are valuable support competitive advantage and the possibility of superior performance. The authors propose and test theories regarding leveraging actions mediating the relationship between a firm's technology-based resource portfolio and performance. The authors' research contributes to the RBV, competitive dynamics and the resource management literatures by better understanding how resources affect performance. The research tests and provides support for the argument that what a firm does with its resources is as important to performance as is resources possession.
