Command and Control Related Computer Technology. Part 2. Speech Compression

Abstract : This document describes progress on (1) the development of a packet radio network, (2) speech compression and (3) speech evaluation. Activities reported under (1) include work on ELF, VM ELF , the IMP-11A interface, cross- network debugger and the PDP-11 gateway; under (2) investigation of the issues involving linear predictor gain parameters, and testing of a 1000 bits/second system; and under (3) application of multidimensional scaling techniques to quality evaluation.
