Of all the regions of the world, South America probably resembles South Africa more than any other. Though South Africa is part of Africa, the level of socio-economic development in this country is so radically different from, the rest of the sub-Saharan continent as to make comparisons meaningless. Most Asian countries lack the racial and class distinctions found in South Africa and South America.
