Near Hanging: A case report

Hanging, one of the most common methods of suicide all over the world, is highly lethal and more than 70% of those who attempted suicide by using this method would die.1, 2 In few cases, if the person is brought down within very short period of suspension and treated vigorously in hospital, there is always a hope for life. The present case report relates to a young adult who attempted to commit suicide by hanging and it is reported here because of rarity of such cases.
