Загальні і регіональні особливості динаміки дитячої смертності в Україні: чи досягне україна задекларованих цілей тисячоліття?

By the data obtained from State Statistics Commission and Centre of Medical Statistics of the Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine. National and regional peculiarities of dynamics of infant mortality in Ukraine over the period of 1990-2010 are studied. Positive dynamics of regional and national indicators is established. The latter has reached the level of 9,1‰ in 2010, the lowest one over the observation period. However, Ukrainian statistic level of infant mortality in the age up to 1 year remains higher than average European by 16,4%, and higher than in EU countries by 2,1 times. Actual indexes of infant mortality in Ukraine differ from European due to existent drawbacks in the infant mortality registration procedures. It is defined, that in order to reach the declared aims of millennium, an instant and dedicated work is required to be done to increase quality and effectiveness of work of the whole complex of medical structures in real time. Such medical structures include those, dealing with reproductive health, namely primary health care, obstetric-gynecologic departments of diagnostic centers, obstetric and gynecologic (neonatal) hospitals.
